Pumpkin Carving

Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Earl always invite everyone over to carve pumpkins.  McKell helped more than last year but BJ and I ended up doing 2 pumpkins a piece.
I couldn't figure out how to take a picture on my new camera with no flash so we could see the pumpkins and still see the people.  Maybe next year. So here are two picture so that you can see both.

Deer Hunting

We went Deer hunting for the first time in a few years.  BJ decided he wanted to go with my brothers.  We borrowed BJ's stepbrothers trailer and decided we would all go up as a family.  BJ was getting the trailer ready to go when he forgot to put up the stairs and drove off.  Yes he ripped off the stairs before we even left.  He felt terrible about it.
It was really rainy the entire time we were there so I didn't get my camera out except for when we went road hunting in the truck.  We had fun with all of the cousins that were there and had a party in the trailer when it was raining outside and they ran wild outside when it wasn't.  BJ saw lots of does and 1 buck.  He was riding his 4 wheeler when he saw it and said that he couldn't get his gun off quick enough to shoot it.
On our trip home Kennidee kept saying she had to go potty like every 15 minutes.  So this is one of our many stops on the side of the road.  She actually went poop on this particular stop which is why BJ took the picture.

Fall break

Awhile back I purchased like most of Utah the unlimited passes to Seven peaks, Trafalga, Owls and the Blaze.  So for Fall break we went and played minature golf at Trafalga.  We had so much fun.  Kennidee didn't want help golfing and used her golf club like a pool cue to hit the ball.  It was so fun to watch McKell have the help of her dad.  She wanted to do it the right way and it frustrated her when she couldn't do it by herself.
I know everyone is itching to know who won.  It was me of course and not by one or two.  BJ got behind early in the game and could never make up the strokes because I never went over par.  I told him he better take me golfing from now on so that I can play his putting game.
I love doing things together as a family and I am glad that my husband is a willing participant.

Gardners Village

Our annual trip to Gardners Village started off with our 2 witches being too afraid to take a picture by themselves with this witch.  I love going to Gardners Village to start off the Halloween season it sets the mood perfectly.  Not to mention the carmel apple that we always get to share.
I though this was a pretty cute picture of BJ and his girls looking at the ducks in the pond.  I love it the BJ is always willing to go and do family activities and that he doesn't complain about it.  He thinks it is important to make memories with his girls.
We tried getting a picture with all the grandkids but Ethan was done taking pictures because he had just taken a picture.  I didn't realize Braxton wasn't in it so I am partially to blame.  We tried getting him to stand by Braxton but he wanted to stand on the other side of his mom so Shantel is an honorary grandkid for this picture.
Isn't she cute eating her carmel apple and sitting on some random pumpkin!

BJ's Bday

BJ's Bday was on the 25th and he is now 29 years old.  I love him very much.  He is a great provider, friend, dad and boyfriend.  He loves sports, especially BYU football!!!  He is always ready to have fun.  This year for his Bday he went on his Scuba trip and he choose Wingers for his Bday dinner.  He loves all you can eat Sticky fingers.  We are so grateful to have him as a Dad and Husband.  We hope that he will put up with us for a long time to come.

Lobster fishing

BJ had a successful lobster trip the first week in October.  He went to the Catalina Islands.  My brother TJ, Josh and BJ all rode together.  They were gone for 5 days.  If I remember correctly BJ dove 12 times in 3 days.  I think half of these dives were in the dead of night.  Night is the best time to look for the lobsters.  They feed on the bottom of the ocean at night.  BJ said his first dive was really scary for him.  They put weight on him to help him sink and he couldn't so they put more on him.  He jumped back in the water and still was unable to sink.  He told TJ that he still didn't think he had enough weight on him.  TJ jumped in the water on top of BJ and pushed him under the water and BJ started to sink.  BJ said that it was pitch black you couldn't even see your hand in front of your face.  He lost TJ because he looked away for a split second and could no longer see TJ's light.  He didn't see any lobster his first few dives.  He said that TJ kept telling him to relax and why are you so freaked out.  BJ said it was nerve racking the first couple of dives.

They did some diving during the day which BJ said was gorgeous.  He said he saw a fish that was bigger than my brother swimming next to him.  I pulled this off the internet so it may be bigger than the one he saw but I thought this was a great perspective.
BJ had tons of fun and has lots of stories to tell, like looking in a cave which is where the lobster are during the day and reaching in to grab one and having an eel come slithering out.
BJ did have some luck his last few dives after someone told him to grab for the tails of the lobster which is exactly opposite of what they told him to do.  He ended up coming home with 5 that were big enough to keep.  TJ came home with 18 and Josh came 8.  BJ would like to do it again he enjoyed it.

Early to rise, Early to nap!!

I love it when you wake everyone up so early that they all crash in the car on the way home from school. I opened all the doors and left them in the garage to sleep.  It was so peaceful to have an hour to myself without any kids.

Mini drill team

McKell went and participated in the mini drill team camp.  BJ took her the first 2 days.  I took her the third day because BJ was doing Drivers Ed.  She wasn't excited about the change.  She sat in the corner of the gym by herself and wouldn't dance.  I asked her what was wrong and she said she just wanted her dad to come with her.  It was sweet she wanted her dad it doesn't usually work that way.
The next night was the preformance at the High school half time.  I was nervous she would pull the same thing as the night before.  But BJ took her over and found Maddie and she was good.
She had so much fun dancing and couldn't stop talking about it.

Halloween came early at our house

BJ has been learning how to scuba dive and went for his final dive at the crater in Midway on 9/27.  The guy who was his partner was diving down really quickly and BJ went to go and get him and didn't breathe through his nose as he was going down (which equalizes his pressure in his mask).  Thus it gave alot of pressure on his eyes and he ends up looking like this.
It really freaked out his students.  He had to tell the story at the beginning of every class period so that they would pay attention.  He also said that when students would come up to ask him a question they wouldn't look him in the eye.

Picnic for two

I was watching McKell one day taking things outside wondering what she was doing.
She set up a picnic for her and I.  We even had fruit and then a treat.  She is such a smart kid.

Kennidee's 2nd Bday

Kennidee had her 2nd Bday on Sept 23.  A few things about Kennidee.  Kennidee is potty trained!  She can talk really well.  She is stuck like glue to her mommy.
She loves fairies especially tinkerbell.  Her dad went shopping with McKell for Kennidee's Bday presents this year and they did a great job.  She got the Tinkerbell movie, dolls and a tinkerbell back pack.  She loved all of her presents.
She had so much fun at her Birthday party as soon as she would open something she would run around showing everyone.
Kennidee and Great Grandma Olsen.
We Love You Kennidee and are glad that you are a part of our family!
