Shamu!
This has definetly been our summer of adventure. We had the opprutunity to go to Sea World and Disneyland with my brother TJ's family and my sister Brindy's family. McKell was so excited to go with all the kids. We started out driving to where we shopped for a little bit and then we went back to the hotel (thanks to Curtis who got us a room on short notice). The next morning we headed to San Diego. Me and my girls had kind of a rough day in the car. Instead of the kids asking when are we going to get there I kept asking "are we there we have to be getting close"! But then we arrived at Sea World and everyone (me especially) could get out and let the vacation begin.

We had a great time and tuckered out our girls and went to the fanciest hotel I have ever stayed at. BJ and I felt like hillbillies at this place. Once again thanks to Curtis we only paid a fraction of what the room cost. Our room overlooked the San Diego bay. It was such a pretty view. They had bell hops that wouldn't let us carry our bags and of course BJ and I don't carry cash and tried to put the tipon our room but they wouldn't let us. So, they didn't get a tip. Oh well we will know for next time.

We got to Sea World and decided that we needed to eat. So I told BJ that we could share a meal. They had a sign that 1 person could have all you can eat for $30.95. Well just on lunch we were going to spend over $20.00. So, with a little convincing BJ purchased this great deal. The rules were that you could only purchase one meal at a time. But that you could get back in line as many times as you wanted. So BJ would buy a meal and bring it out to me and then get back in line and get something for him. The meal included dessert and a drink. We got stawberries, popsicles, ribs, salmon, chicken, and who knows how many waters. It was the best deal of the whole trip. If only Disneyland would adopt this meal plan I would be set.

After watching the shows we decided that the kids needed some time to play and went to this ropes course. Oh my, talk about not being in shape. This thing was so hard to climb and McKell was going up and down the sides trying to find the way up. Macrae and Kyree were also trying to climb. We ended up taking the little girls shoes off so that they could climb better. The best part of this experience was McKell waiting impatiently for her turn to climb the rope that puts you up to the tree house. I was so embarrased the guy in front of us was trying to help his little boy up the rope and McKell goes under his legs and grabs the rope and starts to climb. I was sweating bullets by the time I got down from this adventure but the kids had alot of fun.

We all wanted to watch some of the night shows so we went to watch Shamu and the fireworks. We had a seat that was dead center thanks to my nephews and loved the show.

Sand, Sun and the inevitable meltdown!
What is better than family fun in the sun! We had the Dyer reunion in the middle of June in St George. We had so much fun! We spent the weekend soaking up the sun.
BJ tells me I never include any pictures of myself. This picture is proof why I don't. All of the kids had so much fun we all stayed in a motel this year and the dyer grandkids invaded the pool. We have 30 grandkids and we were only missing 3 of them.
Imagine that your family has went on a vacation and arrives late and your kids are dying to go in the pool only to find 30 people in a hotel's pool. Their were so many people who came to the pool door with their towels and suits and looked at all of us and turned around. I remember one lady who braved it and attempted to do laps in the pool. She was zig zaging for about five minutes and she finally gave up and got out of the pool.
We attempted on Saturday to go to the lake. We were there for maybe 10 minutes when I told BJ that we could just go back to the hotel. He asked me where is your family? I said at the lake and he told me that is where we are going to be too!
The reason for me having such a bad attitude is because of the wind. Imagine the "sand"wich in Little Rascals and you can taste my sandwich. My Doritos's even had sand them. I will say that Kennidee had a lot of fun sitting in the sand and eating straight sand. She thought it was delicious. We left after maybe 2 hours of being there due to the sand storm. We paid $10 for 2 hours of eating sand! But oh well we all went back to the pool and swam for hours with no sand except with the exception of the sand we brought back to the pool.
Sunday we went to the Splash pad in St. George. It was a cool place with a waterfall and a little river and of course it had the shooting fountain. McKell began with falling asleep in the truck. I thought good she will have a little nap and then will be good to go. Ha! Little did I know McKell had other plan. She screamed and screamed and hid under the wheel well of the truck ( I think that is how you spell that). She hid under park benches and just cried and cried. This is a sign that my child has had too much fun and not enough sleep. She calmed down after seeing a little girl with a Dora doll.Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Friends are the best!
Each year we like to get together with our friends for our "annual friend trip". In past years we have went to Bear Lake and Moab. This year we went to St. George with no kids I might add. It was so fun to not worry about nap times, diapers etc. Thanks to Brindy and Joe who watched my girls. They had lots of fun.

BJ and I don't do water sports very often. I hate swimming with fish! Oh! and not only were the fish an issue but as we pulled into Sand Hollow there is a big sign that states "Swimmers Itch is now active". If that is not an open invitation to turn around and go home. BJ pleaded with me to go on the water wienie with him and I am glad he did I had a blast.

We went to Sand Hollow on Friday and went boating. BJ left me a love note on the beach! I think he was shooting for brownie points.
Britney and Rhett had her family's boat at the lake. They had a water wienie that we had a blast on. After the lake we went to Mesquite for the night and had all you could eat seafood. Delicious!

Saturday we went 4 wheeling. It was one of the most scenic rides I have taken in a while. We got to see the Red cliffs, the river and bluffs.

McKell's Birthday
McKell had her third birthday party on June 5th. Her cousin Steve was born on the same day and they celebrated together. Aunt Jami rented a blow up slide for the party. All of the kids had so much fun. We had hot dogs and salads. We were suprised with Grandma Collen showing up from Arizona. McKell is into princesses so that is what her presents were centered around. McKell's friend Annika gave her a tutu that her mom made. She also gave her a crown and dress up shoes. Mckell has worn the shoes and crown to lunch, the store everywhere she won't take them off.

Splash

Summer has begun and for the first time ever BJ doesn't have to work or go to school this summer. He is just going to hang out with his girls.
We went to the splash park in Herriman with friends. McKell had so much fun running through the water.
Kenny has been feeling a little under the weather so she just hung out by mom and dad.
Snow in June!
We kicked off the summer break yesterday by going up AF canyon four wheeling. It was so much fun! Well, we did get stuck 3 times in the snow. Yes, we got stuck in the snow and lets just say there were some colorful words exchanged between the two adults (yes that would be BJ and I). Men and women have very different ideas of how to get things down. Women generally sit and analyze the situation and men go (excuse the phrase) "balls out" and think that brawn will get it done. It is good to know that we still have good communication skills after 7 years of marriage because we ended up working together getting our girls to Aunt Brindy's and going back for the 4 wheller where some nice men pulled us out in just minutes. On our rescue mission to save the 4 wheeler we saw a moose and 3 deer it was actually a really fun day over all.
Schools Out!
School is finally over and BJ did the whole "shebang" (sound it out it doesn't say what it spells). He went to graduation and the all night party. He arrived home the following morning at almost 6 am. He is no longer an all night partier. If he ever suggest it again I will remind him of his following day after 3 hours of sleep. The picture above is an ice cream cake that a student made for him as a parting gift. Yes, it is a math equation of some sort. Did she get a better grade because of the cake? Hmm... I guess will never know. Zoo!
