Roberts Reunion

We went to the Roberts' family reunion last week. It was fun for the adults and the kids. We played something where you put ice in a swimming pool and you have to use your feet and put it in a bucket.
McKell got 5 ice cubes and I got 8 in my bucket. It was alot harder than I thought it would be. The winner for the adult women had a 131 ice cubes. Yes, I know I did pitiful. I think having big feet is a disadvantage.
The next activity for the little kids was they had a plate that had M&M's hidden inside of cool whip and you could only use your mouth to get them out. McKell had tons of fun with this.
I think the little kids had more fun on this little roller coaster than almost all the games put together. They even started riding it backwards.
Now the best for last. BJ got a hair transplant doesn't it look great. He has been feeling the burn from the lack of hair on top of his head and decided to wear this hot hat of his Uncle Mike's. Wow that is all there is left to say about that!

Kennidee watch

This is my baby she is almost 11 months old. She is quite the character.

She has 5 teeth. She got 4 of these in one month between 9-10 months of age.
She is standing all by her self and will stand up almost anywhere including the stairs. She stands on the stairs after she gets so excited with her sister who is saying "come on Kenni".
The 2 sisters are playing alot more together which is fun to watch. McKell is trying to help Kenni walk all the time. She does a good job she just needs to walk a little slower because Kennidee usually trips and falls down.
How cute is this! Kennidee did such a good job taking pictures!
Oh yeah, by herself she can take about 5 steps. It is very exciting. McKell walked about 2 weeks before her 1st birthday so it is a race.

Last couple of weeks we have been...

So I went to Albertson's for their Kraft food deal and BJ and I spent 77.17 and got back 15 at the register and have 60 coming in mail rebates. So we spent 2.17 on all of this food. I know I am awesome. I know most of it looks like junk food but BJ did start school so he needs snack right!
Grandma Colleen came to help Aunt Brindy move and she came over for dinner and to see my girls. I told BJ that I thought it was a little too quite. I went upstairs and so Grandma helping McKell empty her toy box. McKell had so much fun with Grandma Colleen and Kennidee followed me up the stairs and had lots of fun too.
Ok so to explain this random picture BJ is always asking me why don't you blow dry McKell's hair or straight iron it. Well hear it is she looks so much different. Wow I was shocked and BJ was so excited he couldn't stop commenting about it. To explain my husband is not the biggest fan of curly hair. I think somewhere in his head that if I leave it curly then that means I didn't take the time to do it that morning. I'll be honest her hair is like an every other day thing. She has a major fit to wash her hair and with curly hair it is a pain to comb through if it hasn't been washed.
This is the most recent picture I have of her where you can really see her hair. Do you like all the marker all over her.

Ducks, river and J-u-u-a-n-n-e

Wow, looking at this picture still totally freaks me out. We went to Idaho falls and stayed with our friends Carissa and Mike. They took us to the falls which are gorgeous but they McKell to be able to feed the geese and ducks. Can you believe how many birds there are? They were everywhere. BJ braved and helped McKell throw them bread.

Like I said the falls are beautiful but the geese not so much!!

The reason for a trip to Idaho was for my niece Kinsey's open house. The funniest part of our celebration was when my nephew Teagan who is 7 read the front windshield and said "Who is (pronouce this like a girl's name) J-u-u-a-n-n-e". We had a celebration weekend with floating the river as well. The river was so much fun. BJ and I rented a 4 person tube where the center was enclosed and our whole family (yes that means we took Kennidee and McKell) down the river several time. The girls had fun most of the time... except for when Kennidee fell asleep in my arms and we then went down a small rapid and Kenni got cold water splashed in her face. She didn't think that was very exciting. Our summer has been constantly on the go. It has been exciting and exhausting. I have been pleased to just sit in my pj's and do nothing at home. By the way Juan if you are reading this I would never do that to your car.

On your mark, get set, go!

Morgan's birthday party was so much fun. I think the adults got more entertainment than any of the kids and Shantel's knee will always remember Morgan's party.
Braxton & Kennidee
Kennidee tagged along with anyone who would hold her. I think almost everyone bounced with her or took her down the slide.
The little kids did have their share of fun. Steve and Ethan even played air hockey against one another.
This would be Shantel after one of her infamous races. She and Jim would race through the obstacle course and down the slide. This particular time she got ejected out of the slide. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. The race below is Jami and Shantel decide for yourself if you think it is funny?

This last one is of me and Shantel. I had an advantage because of how many race Shantel had ran but I still one by a mile!

4th of July

We started our 4th of July weekend by going to the riverton parade with BJ's family. McKell came home with a huge sack of taffy. BJ ate most of it I'm sure because taffy is his favorite.
We also had a BBQ at our house and had over Grandma & Grandpa McGlone, Shantel & family, Jim & family and Kinsey and Juan. There it is said now I won't forget who was here. I do have to say the funniest part of the night was the next day when I found out Jim had been mobile face booking while at my house. I guess we weren't exciting enough.McKell was a little afraid of the sparklers as you can tell by her face. She had the skill mastered by the end of the night. We watched Thanksgiving points fireworks from our front yard while being feasted on by the mosquitos. I think I got something like 15 mosquito bites.
A future cowgirl? Maybe so McKell is constantly talking about Aunt Teresa and the horses.
She got to ride the horses over the 4th up on the skyline. She didn't want to ride the 4 wheelers only Aunt Teresa's horses.

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

I was so excited for my girls to go to Disneyland. I was not disappointed they had so much fun. Kennidee loved taking pictures and looked at the characters as if to say "what is up with you"? Here is a sample of all of the things we did. McKell was just barely to short to ride most of the rides. We got to take her on Pirates of the Caribbean where she got really scared because of the drops in the dark. We rode it a few more times over the next few days and she liked it more and more. She would tell me to lift my arms. This ride was the perfect chance for Kenni to catch a cat nap which she did each time.
McKell and I rode on the matterhorn together and she yelled at me the whole time. Saying "Mom I told you I didn't want water" for any of you who have not been to Disneyland in a while the matterhorn has a waterfall that you don't go through but you can see and maybe gave us a few water droplets. I was just laughing because I told her we were not going to go by the water and I lied obviously.
We couldn't be in Disneyland without having at least one catasophre. We rode on Toy Story which is a really fun arcade shooting game that McKell really liked but the second time we rode it she wanted to ride with me and I rode with Kenni. BJ says that she cried the entire time and stood up because the lap bar only came up to his knees so he was holding on to her the rest of the game. He said that she started playing the game towards the end and was really mad when the ride was over because she hadn't been able to play the game. The ride operator came over to us and said that she needed to talk to McKell. I walked over with McKell and she said no just her. So I put McKell down and the lady says why are you crying sweetheart? McKell starts crying again and says I want my Mommy. She gave us a card for an immediate re ride. We went on the ride and I had McKell go tell the lady thank you. This woman told McKell not to cry at Disneyland anymore. We had so much fun on this ride and Buzz lightyear which was another shooting game. The adults and the kids alike loved thes games and TJ was always the high score.
McKell had so much fun getting the Characters autographs. When she saw a character she would yell "Mom my book". It was so much fun to see how excited she got. She is still talking about seeing all of the people. She loves Tinker or Tinkerbell to everyone else. So we waited in line for about 30 minutes to see Tinker. I was getting very impatient because that is a long time for a little kid to wait. They did such a good job of making up for our wait. The fairies got down to her level and had a conversation with her. I was so impressed.
This was the perfect ending McKell was zonked Kenni stole McKell's sucker and BJ well what can I say he was done! We had such a good time that we are already thinking of going next year with BJ's family.

Shamu!

This has definetly been our summer of adventure. We had the opprutunity to go to Sea World and Disneyland with my brother TJ's family and my sister Brindy's family. McKell was so excited to go with all the kids. We started out driving to where we shopped for a little bit and then we went back to the hotel (thanks to Curtis who got us a room on short notice). The next morning we headed to San Diego. Me and my girls had kind of a rough day in the car. Instead of the kids asking when are we going to get there I kept asking "are we there we have to be getting close"! But then we arrived at Sea World and everyone (me especially) could get out and let the vacation begin.

We got to Sea World and decided that we needed to eat. So I told BJ that we could share a meal. They had a sign that 1 person could have all you can eat for $30.95. Well just on lunch we were going to spend over $20.00. So, with a little convincing BJ purchased this great deal. The rules were that you could only purchase one meal at a time. But that you could get back in line as many times as you wanted. So BJ would buy a meal and bring it out to me and then get back in line and get something for him. The meal included dessert and a drink. We got stawberries, popsicles, ribs, salmon, chicken, and who knows how many waters. It was the best deal of the whole trip. If only Disneyland would adopt this meal plan I would be set.

After watching the shows we decided that the kids needed some time to play and went to this ropes course. Oh my, talk about not being in shape. This thing was so hard to climb and McKell was going up and down the sides trying to find the way up. Macrae and Kyree were also trying to climb. We ended up taking the little girls shoes off so that they could climb better. The best part of this experience was McKell waiting impatiently for her turn to climb the rope that puts you up to the tree house. I was so embarrased the guy in front of us was trying to help his little boy up the rope and McKell goes under his legs and grabs the rope and starts to climb. I was sweating bullets by the time I got down from this adventure but the kids had alot of fun.

We all wanted to watch some of the night shows so we went to watch Shamu and the fireworks. We had a seat that was dead center thanks to my nephews and loved the show.
We had a great time and tuckered out our girls and went to the fanciest hotel I have ever stayed at. BJ and I felt like hillbillies at this place. Once again thanks to Curtis we only paid a fraction of what the room cost. Our room overlooked the San Diego bay. It was such a pretty view. They had bell hops that wouldn't let us carry our bags and of course BJ and I don't carry cash and tried to put the tipon our room but they wouldn't let us. So, they didn't get a tip. Oh well we will know for next time.

Sand, Sun and the inevitable meltdown!

What is better than family fun in the sun! We had the Dyer reunion in the middle of June in St George. We had so much fun! We spent the weekend soaking up the sun.
BJ tells me I never include any pictures of myself. This picture is proof why I don't. All of the kids had so much fun we all stayed in a motel this year and the dyer grandkids invaded the pool. We have 30 grandkids and we were only missing 3 of them. Imagine that your family has went on a vacation and arrives late and your kids are dying to go in the pool only to find 30 people in a hotel's pool. Their were so many people who came to the pool door with their towels and suits and looked at all of us and turned around. I remember one lady who braved it and attempted to do laps in the pool. She was zig zaging for about five minutes and she finally gave up and got out of the pool.
We attempted on Saturday to go to the lake. We were there for maybe 10 minutes when I told BJ that we could just go back to the hotel. He asked me where is your family? I said at the lake and he told me that is where we are going to be too!
The reason for me having such a bad attitude is because of the wind. Imagine the "sand"wich in Little Rascals and you can taste my sandwich. My Doritos's even had sand them. I will say that Kennidee had a lot of fun sitting in the sand and eating straight sand. She thought it was delicious. We left after maybe 2 hours of being there due to the sand storm. We paid $10 for 2 hours of eating sand! But oh well we all went back to the pool and swam for hours with no sand except with the exception of the sand we brought back to the pool.
Sunday we went to the Splash pad in St. George. It was a cool place with a waterfall and a little river and of course it had the shooting fountain. McKell began with falling asleep in the truck. I thought good she will have a little nap and then will be good to go. Ha! Little did I know McKell had other plan. She screamed and screamed and hid under the wheel well of the truck ( I think that is how you spell that). She hid under park benches and just cried and cried. This is a sign that my child has had too much fun and not enough sleep. She calmed down after seeing a little girl with a Dora doll.
We all ended up having a lot of fun! Thank you Curtis and Marissa for hosting.
