Easter Day

Kennidee was ready to go outside and find eggs.  The Easter bunny was nice enough to broom most on the snow off of the lawn in the back.
Kennidee liked picking up the eggs she didn't realize that she had a basket to find.
McKell found about 2 dozen eggs.  She was a great egg finder.
BJ look I threw in a picture with me in it.  McKell and I finding more eggs.
Kennidee found her basket it was on the porch swing.  See all that snow.  BRRR!!
The brilliant Easter bunny put McKell's easter basket on the top of the playset.  Oh yeah she had on a skirt that Grandma Kathy made for her and Kenni.
Then her dad tells her " McKell slide down the slide".  Wet snow makes you go fast down the slide.  She had a look of pure terror at the bottom of the slide.
The Easter bunny also hid a basket for BJ and I in the lawnmower that I got to find.
Look, Look both my girls looking at me at the same time.  It's a miracle!
The Robert's Cousins and their Easter loot.
Easter 2010 the Roberts Family.  I know BJ looks weird in this picture but I looked weird in the other one and I am posting so he loses.

Easter egg hunts

Easter Celebrations started out with McKell's Easter Egg hunt at school.  Miss Lacy and the Easter bunny hid the eggs in Miss Lacy's garage.
They found the eggs in record time.  They even reached eggs that the Easter bunny thought would be too hard or too high.  He learned never to underestimate kids who want candy.
We went to the Bluffdale Easter egg hunt in the sagebrush.  It was really cold.
Kennidee nose was running her eyes were tearing from the cold wind.  I went with Kennidee and she ended up getting 6 eggs.  Right after I had BJ take her to the car because her fingers were red from being so cold.
McKell did a good job and she got 11 eggs.  She was cold but more interested in the Easter egg hunt.
I tried really hard to get a picture with my girls and their Easter egg baskets but Kennidee just wanted candy.
We dyed Easter eggs at Grandma Kathy's house.  I actually let Kenni dye the eggs by herself.  When McKell was that age I didn't let her I will show you why.
McKell had fun.  She did really well this year not making a huge mess.  We redid some of her eggs to make them darker but overall she did a great job.
Enter exhibit A the Green Hulk!  This is why I didn't let my 1yr old in the past dye eggs.  Why do parents want their kids to have stained hands.  Kenni screamed when we took away all the eggs and dye away.
I tried eggs a new way.  I used silk ties and wrapped them around the egg.  Then you boil them in vinegar water like normal.  I thought they turned out really cool!

I love my girls but sometimes......

So I feel like I have been ran through the ringer this month.  My girls that I love to death have just been trouble makers.  I know it is because I am always saying how well they play together and it is coming to bite me in the butt.  This month McKell has opened the nail polish all 7 of them and her and Kennidee painted my hope chest, bed and floor.  McKell told me that Kennidee opened it. Uh Huh the 1 year old is a genius in McKell's eyes.  They took me bridal bouquet that has survived for almost 8 years and crushed more than half of the rose all over my front room.  They also took the loaf of pumpkin chocolate bread that BJ and I won in a raffle and smashed it all aver the couch and the carpet.  That is just to name a few of our messes.  I don't write these down because I don't love my children but sometimes I think people think that stay at home moms are so lucky because they get to loaf around the house all day.  Don't get me wrong I don't wake up at the crack of dawn but when your kids are up you have no choice but to be up and alert.  I love staying home but it is the hardest most rewarding job I have ever done.  Sometimes I consider going back to work because it would be so much easier.  Someone else would be dealing with the messes.  But, I would hate to only wake them up and send them off to the babysitter.  Bring them home feed them and put them to bed.  I love being with my kids!!  Just in case anyone who is reading this doubts this.  Every once in a while I just feel like I need a break.  Men feel like they need time to unwind when they get home from work but I don't feel like women get that time.  Because when dad gets home it's time for dinner etc....  Okay I am done complaining I just felt like I needed to put my feelings down and be done with them.

Our February

My girls have been getting playing so well together.  Kennidee always wants to be by McKell.  I think it is so cute.
McKell's valentines party at preschool.  They had so much fun but it was chaos to hand out the valentines.
McKell thought it was so fun to get treats for "Balentines".  She is always asking me in it's Valentines again.
I went to the homeshow with the women in my family over Valentines.  So the girls and I went and wrote on BJ's windows after school so that he would have Valentines early.
I love it because, I think coming out of school with other teachers to have his windows wrote on was a little embarassing for him.
My mom bedazzled our condo for Valentines.  It made me smile because it was so like my mom.  A few highlights of the trip - My mom got her ears pierced at the age of 66, I hate the DI and I sat in a changing room for 2 hours while my mom was trying on clothes and we had a birthday party with my brother.  If I get pictures from my mom I will post them.
This is one of those they were playing really great together.  They were being quite so I knew they were in something.  Makeup all over them and my bedroom floor.  I think Kennidee looks like at accident victim.  McKell did a good job on herself i think.  I still like it that they have been playing so well together even though I got to clean up a mess.

Music that makes you feel good!

Okay so many people may not know but I sang in choir for most of my youth.  I still to this day am addicted to good music.  This if you have not seen it is the best that I have heard in a really long time and I have listened to it several times since I watched it on Oprah.  I hope you enjoy it and BJ if you are reading I really want to go to Vegas next year and watch her show.  PLEASSSEE!  I took the music off my page so that you could enjoy every moment as I have!

Projects for January

So my mother in law gave aprons to all the girls in 2008 for Christmas and this wonderful specimen of a man became quite attached to mine.  I took it upon myself to make him one.  Thanks to Alisha for showing me where the discount material is in Joann's I made this apron for a $1.00.  I was pleasantly suprised at how well I did.  I also started writing my family newsletter for my mom, dad and siblings.  I thought that the first one turned out fairly well.  I have also been doing alot of bargain shopping and trying out new recipes.  My favorite recipe has been the new Mexican Rice recipe thanks to Brian via Recipe Zaar.  I love Recipe Zaar. Next month I will try and be more up to speed on my blogging duties as BJ would say "Neish when are you going to blog".  My response Soon!

New Years Eve

So I know I am way behind in posting but we (meaning I) have been busy.  We were able to celebrate New Years Eve with Sandy and Blake (Dusty's Mom & Dad who is BJ's cousin).  It was one of my best New Years ever.  We had great food steaks & potatoes one of my favorites.   Of course BJ got to eat crab with everyone else but I not enjoying seafood did not partake in the crab festivities.

Kennidee had so much fun with all of the kids and because there were other kids present we alll decided to celebrate New Year's a little early.   Sandy had hats, streamers, kazoo's and confetti for the little kids.

McKell and Kennidee had so much fun.  Kennidee true to form found candy and would beg for it from anyone who was close to it.

Sandy also handed out pots for the little kids to bang on.  We were at home by 11pm and in bed before midnight it was great because all of the little kids didn't know we had moved up New Years.

Shevlin Whitaker

So I have been putting off writing about Christmas because I didn't know how pay tribute to someone who did so much in so little time.  This picture is of BJ's cousin Shevlin wos was in his early twenties and passed away the Saturday before Christmas.  We went to Wyoming for the funeral on Monday and drove home Tuesday and then we had Christmas.  Shevlin's funeral was amazing.  Their were so many people who were amazed at his wisdom that was beyond his physical age.  BJ and I have a favorite memory of Shevlin where he and BJ every year they would only sit in the boat.  BJ because of his hip and Shevlin because of his health (and come to find out he didn't like the fish in the lake like me).  We convinced the adults to let BJ and Shevlin ride the water wienie because we couldn't be rough with either of them.  Everything went great until BJ got a litlle bored with the slow stroll on the water and started bouncing on the tub.  BJ out weighed Shevlin by a little and poor little Shevlin went sailing into the air and then into the water.  BJ hurried over to Shevlin and was holding him up above the water.  Shevlin told BJ that he was drowning him.  I think Shevlin had a direct line to his heart at the time.  BJ felt really bad but they were having fun on the lake.  We love all the Whitakers and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Christmas in a nutshell!

Okay so I am a loser and didn't take any pictures of my kids opening their presents.  But we did get it on video.

McKell was so proud of the cookies she decorated and maybe all that frosting was the reason we had such a hard time getting her to sleep.  We decorated cookies at Uncle Chad's house with lots of our cousins.

We had a little "discussion" on whether or not Santa wraps presents or just leaves them out.  This is McKell's pile and she almost ruined it.  She came down the stairs crying while Santa was trying to get her stuff ready.  Her dad went back upstairs with her to lay down with her.  He fell asleep with her and Mrs Clause had the privelege of finishing by herself.

This is Kennidee's pile of presents.  She had so much fun this year.  She didn't care what was under the wrapping she just wanted to rip the paper.

I think Santa is goint to have a belly ache after all the frosting on those cookies!

This was McKell's school Christmas program.  I have never laughed so hard ever.  McKell had her hands shoved in her pants almost the entire time.

The mom's that knew me kept turning around and laughing and pointing at her.  I will never forget this concert and you can be assured I will be using the video as blackmail in the future.

They had a Santa at her school party and she stayed consistent in saying that she wanted all the toys.

We went to BJ's cousin Colby's in laws house on the Sunday before Christmas to a Christmas get together.  Where McKell got to see Santa.  Kennidee didn't stand still enough for me to get a picture.  My camera has been having issues.  If you look at my pictures you can definetly tell.
Well that wraps up 2009 for us.  A quick recap if that was an information overload.  12/19 we had the Dyer party I was in charge, also found out Shevlin had passed away, 12/20 Party with Colby, 12/21 School party, 12/22 Wyoming, 12/23 Wyoming funeral, 12/24 finishing christmas preparation and then it was Christmas.  I didn't forget about New Years but that was a long enough post for now and I will post it another day.
